Flying Katydid - Copyright Robert J. Lang

Robert J. Lang has been an avid student of origami for over thirty years and is now recognized as one of the world’s leading masters of the art, with over 500 designs catalogued and diagrammed. He is noted for designs of great detail and realism, and includes in his repertoire some of the most complex origami designs ever created. His work combines aspects of the Western school of mathematical origami design with the Eastern emphasis upon line and form to yield models that are at once distinctive, elegant, and challenging to fold. They have been shown in exhibitions in Paris (Carrousel du Louvre), New York (Museum of Modern Art), Salem (Peabody Essex Museum), San Diego (Mingei Museum of World Folk Art), and Kaga, Japan (Nippon Museum Of Origami), among others. The Art of Mark Powell

Bedroom - Copyright Mark Powell

Mark Powell describes his sculptures as “Beyond the Gate”. Now I am not sure as to what gate he may be referring to but it’s a gate that I would love to go behind to see what goes on. The sculptures may seem gory at first but to me they are beautiful and precise. Link

Zombie Garden Sculpture - Copyright Design Toscano

We challenged noted British artist Alan Dickinson to create his most haunting image exclusively for Toscano—and he certainly delivered! Not for the faint of heart, Dickinson’s life-sized, gray-toned zombie will claw his way out of your garden plot or family room corner, pleading for assistance with the most lifelike eyes you’ve ever seen. His macabre expression is captured in such great detail in quality designer resin and finished so realistically that you’ll swear you can hear him breathing! Link

The Art of Tim Biskup

The Channeler - Copyright Tim Biskup

Tim says, ” Tim Biskup is a Southern California fine artist whose work has been shown worldwide, including galleries and museums in Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Tokyo, Kyoto, Barcelona, Berlin and Melbourne. He’s collaborated with artists and designers around the globe and organized art auctions and exhibitions.

Tim’s career in animation led him through nearly every studio in Southern California where he honed his craft as a draftsman and technical painter.

Emerging from the studio system around the beginning of the millennium, he attacked the fine art world with a constant stream of original artwork, limited edition prints, vinyl figures, sculptures and tee shirts. In recent years his work has taken on a more serious tone, driving his self-proclaimed “baroque modernism” into darker territory.” Link
