Robert J. Lang has been an avid student of origami for over thirty years and is now recognized as one of the world’s leading masters of the art, with over 500 designs catalogued and diagrammed. He is noted for designs of great detail and realism, and includes in his repertoire some of the most complex origami designs ever created. His work combines aspects of the Western school of mathematical origami design with the Eastern emphasis upon line and form to yield models that are at once distinctive, elegant, and challenging to fold. They have been shown in exhibitions in Paris (Carrousel du Louvre), New York (Museum of Modern Art), Salem (Peabody Essex Museum), San Diego (Mingei Museum of World Folk Art), and Kaga, Japan (Nippon Museum Of Origami), among others. The Art of Yumiko Matsui

I have been making paper sculpture since 2006. The catalyst for this change was seeing dollhouses created by my aunt with her husband when I retuned home to Japan on vacation. I realized I really like miniature worlds. Link

Thunder Panda Website

October 14th, 2008 | 2 Comments | Posted in Crafts, Website

Call me silly or strange but after stumbling upon Thunder Panda I have seem to have found a home to art dorks like me who celebrate in the idea of creating things from hand. Take for instance the Zombie Papercraft dolls that you can download and print. These crafts have been all drawn by hand and to me seem to be quite cute! I know my son will enjoy making these creepy but yet cool projects and I hope you will as well. Link

The Art of Sharon Mount

Wedding Chapel Three, Maryland - Copyright Sharon Mount

Sharon says, “I’m Sharon, and this is my collection of tiny buildings crafted from business cards, packaging and other nice papers.

In the 1970s, when our children were young, my husband, James Mount, started a collection of tiny buildings – made from odds-and-ends cardboard packaging. The original idea was for them to be Christmas decorations – to be placed over tiny white lights on our tree, or to gather on a side table as a little village. Each holiday, James would add to our collection. A few were given to friends, but most rested in an attic-stored box through most of the year…escaping for Christmas, to our delight.” Link
