Recycled newspaper bag - Copyright the India Shop

The India Shop, located in England, is a gift shop that specializes in Fairtrade products. One item though that stands out in their vast collection are these newspaper bags that are entirely made from recycled newspapers and Bollywood movie posters!

The India Shop writes, “The organisation was started in 2004 by street children who wanted to give something back in return for the opportunities which had allowed them to escape desperate circumstances. These elder children, now married with children of their own, generate an income by making newspaper bags and jute items. This allows them to take care of thirteen street children that they have saved from the streets surrounding Delhi train station. Support for this wonderful project means that these children can enjoy going to school and playing, rather than pulling rickshaws, shoe polishing, rag picking and worse.

The newspapers are collected by bicycle rickshaw calling at residential homes for any read newspapers. This is why sometimes your bag will have a completed crossword!”

It’s not that I am against eating good it’s just I don’t include things grown on dead things nor in poo. It’s the texture man, the texture! However, using them in a good sauce or hell just sauteing them with other things really brings out a nice flavor.

Paul Baxendale over at FinderMaker does more than just that with these funny looking fungi. He has found a clever and useful way of making something productive out of them, shelves!

Paul says, “One’s active participation in this tutorial is rather dependent on access to suitable mushroom specimens, and while I regret that I’m unable to offer any specific advice on where to go looking, do just keep a keen eye in the trees (up and down the trunks, specifically) the next time you are out on a ramble through a forested area, and your diligence may well be rewarded.

How to make a homemade Tandoor Oven

Homemade Tandoor Oven - Copyright Instructables.com

Fritz Bogott over at Instructables.com came up with a great way of building a homemade Tandoor oven. Lately I have been researching on how to construct one of my own and while I may not make mine exactly like his, it has inspired a few modifications to my plans. None the less, a great instruction based way of making one fairly cheap.
