I Feel Myself in Bloom - Copyright Jordan Awan

Jordan says, “Jordan Awan is a cool guy and an illustrator based in Brooklyn, New York. This nice guy has a BFA from Pratt Institute, wow! Also, he’s rad.”

With so few words but such an impact, hell, I am willing to say that Jordan is a nice, rad guy as well. Link

Ville De Carcassonme - Copyright Man Hole Covers.Net

Like shields, slowly polished by traffic and sunshine they glow silently and show us the color of sky, these who cover the access to the deep dark

to where we send what has to disapear of (our) life.

Sewer and even underground are not our main subject of interest and are not well explained in these pages. However, manhole covers are one of their most visible part in daily life and we feel useful, preliminary, to advocate this essential aspect who determinate their form and use.

All models presented here are old french manhole covers. Link

The Music of The Black Keys

The Akron, Ohio-based duo The Black Keys is well known for its concentrated, hermetic approach to recording, hunkering down with rudimentary equipment in an unfinished basement or commandeering the floor of a vacant local rubber factory to create terse but soulful rock that seems to have time-traveled into the pair’s amps from some long-ago radio show. But guitarist-vocalist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney now admit they were ready for a change of scene-as well as some company. So when they got the opportunity to work with Grammy Award-nominated producer-musician-provocateur Danger Mouse, a/k/a Brian Burton (Gnarls Barkley, Gorillaz, The Grey Album), they agreed, for the first time, to leave their familiar environs. They weren’t quite willing to cross state lines yet, though. Link

Nicisme over at Cherrapeno writes, “My mum must get so fed up with me. Whenever I pop over to see her, I always take a peek through her cookery books. She has quite a few that I don’t have, and some are very old. Just after Christmas last year, I noticed that she had an old Sainsbury’s magazine on the coffee table. It had some really good ideas in it and I thought these little snowmen cupcakes were quite cute.” Link

Oh, and make sure you check out the website for an awesome chocolate chip cookie with melted snow on top cookie recipe!!!
